BEWET would not exist without the volunteers who serve as Board Members or those who step up to keep the club running with various Chair Positions. These are the fearless leaders who take on those roles!

BEWET Board Members

President - Alex (AJ) Steahr

Alex (aka AJ) joined BEWET in 2015 as an intern with his whitewater kayak. He joined full time in 2018 and became a guide. He joined BEWET with the goal or sharing the stoke with others and bring people safely down the river while having lots of tun. He is ready to help develop the future of the club!

Vice President - Ian Hoffman

Ian has been bringing his energy to BEWET for several years! He has lead the club in the past, and is back to show his young child the joys of the river! He is also serving as the Safety Chairperson

Treasurer

Katey has served as moneybags for the last year and is keeping us organized and our finances in order—no small feat for rivermeat.

Secretary

Chelsea is no stranger to BEWET and is looking to bring her organizational skills to keeping us running the club smoothly, and make sure the board keeps their heads on

Lead Guide Trainer

Chris has served on the board in the past and is eager to be overseeing the club’s guide training program. He could not do it alone and is happy to have the experience of the more seasoned guides of the club!

BEWET Chair Positions

  • Organizes periodic work parties at the clubhouse (aka. club garage) and ensures equipment is inventoried and updated/repaired as needed. This includes the club truck.

  • Organize a meeting in January with all who are interested in multi-day rafting trips for the year. Coordinates permit lottery submission for permitted multi-day river.

    Chris Convis

  • Updates and maintains club first aid equipment. Organizes first aid training classes and coordinates with membership chair on first aid certification status of guides.

  • Focal point for sea kayaking and flat water parts of BEWET

  • Coordinates pro deals with guides. Yes, rated guides can get access to prodeals!
