Information:
Evan’s first interactions with BEWET as an intern in 2004 left him a little cold… and a little wet. On a trip down the White Salmon his guide (to remain nameless) had barely put the boat in the water before losing passengers in the appropriately-named Maytag rapid. Most would have been deterred (a cold, wet swim and bruised shins will do that), but having taught kayak surfing in central California Evan chose to come back the following summer to really see what BEWET was all about. He completed the official guide training program in 2007, but was unable to be extremely active due to other commitments (namely grad school). Evan has been the whitewater kayaking chair for BEWET since 2008. While aspirations of strengthening the kayaking portion of the club still are present, Evan is focusing on modernizing BEWET and laying the groundwork for future generations of rafters. When not off playing outdoors Evan is a Business and Strategy Design Analyst for Boeing’s Strategic Projects and Analysis group within Research and Technology. He currently resides in Kirkland, WA.
